from my Sr. Thesis:

“…I used L-muse (DOS) to convert the resulting symbol strings onto musical information. For example, I can assign 'F' (usually the 'draw line' command) to be interpreted as “play the note”, or a curve up to alter the pitch of the note. I then export information as a MIDI file into my sound studio and synthesize a timbre to become the sound of the form. All notation, duration, velocity, key and pitch are based totally on the parameters of the object itself.”
